Zoo Design
My favorite project that we learned in math is a Design a Zoo
project. When working on this project, it helps you learn about perimeter,
area, and surface area. We make a blue print of what the zoo would look
like, but before you do that, you have to decide what animals you want
in the zoo. They give the square footage of you put one animal in the
zoo. (EX: One zebra = 2,000 squared feet.) You also have to calculate
the perimeter, area, and surface area each zoo exhibit. After the
blueprint, you make a big colorful map of the zoo. Instead of making a
regular map, I decided to make a 3-D map. That was the challenge for me
when I was creating this project. I was able to get through this project
because I had a few help from my family. I got a really good grade, and
I really enjoy making 3-D models.
